Job summary

Mana Education are urgently recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for an alternative provision academy in Swadlincote to support pupils who have been or are at risk of being excluded. The role involves 1:1 support, small intervention groups and assisting learning.

We welcome candidates with experience in ASC, SEMH, speech and language needs, or challenging behaviour. Teaching Assistant qualifications are beneficial but not essential; we offer excellent rates of pay and weekly pay.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience supporting children or young people OR relevant experience in UK schools.
  • Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Mana Education are urgently recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for an alternative provision academy for pupils who have been, or are at risk of being, excluded from mainstream schools.

We are looking for caring, patient and dedicated individuals to support children and young people.

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • SEMH
  • Speech & Language Needs
  • Challenging Behaviour
  • Trauma-Informed Practice
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Complex Medical Needs
  • ADHD & Emotional Regulation
We also welcome candidates with backgrounds in:
  • Care work
  • Residential support
  • Youth work
  • Sports coaching
  • Nursery work
  • Mental health support
  • Support work and community care
You may work:
  • 1:1 with pupils
  • In small intervention groups
  • Supporting classroom learning
  • Assisting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and independence
