Job summary

Mana Education in Burton upon Trent is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist SEND setting. The role offers long-term opportunities with potential permanent placement and excellent rates of pay.

Ideal candidates will have experience with SEMH, trauma-informed practice, complex medical needs, ADHD and emotional regulation, and a calm, patient approach to support learning and development.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience supporting children or young people OR relevant experience in UK schools
• Calm, patient and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
• Teaching Assistant qualifications are beneficial but not essential

• 1:1 support with pupils and assisting with communication, emotional regulation and independence
• Support children and young people in a specialist SEND setting
• Assist with behaviour management and safeguarding in line with school policy

Mana Education are urgently recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for an alternative provision academy for pupils who have been, or are at risk of being, excluded from mainstream schools.

The position is a long term one and will probably be made permanent.

We are looking for caring, patient and dedicated individuals to support children and young people.

We Welcome Experience In:

• SEMH
• Trauma-Informed Practice
• Complex Medical Needs
• ADHD & Emotional Regulation

We also welcome candidates with backgrounds in:

• Care work
• Nursery work
• Support work and community care

You may work:

• 1:1 with pupils
• Assisting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and independence
