Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in WS1, Walsall, supporting children with autism and speech, language and communication needs. You will engage with pupils through 1:1 and small-group interventions, helping them access learning and build confidence.

This role offers term-time hours, full-time consistency, and the chance to contribute to a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent in a relevant subject.
• Previous experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEN.
• Experience with Autism and/or Speech and Language Needs.

Responsibilities

• Support primary-aged pupils with autism and SLCN.
• Deliver targeted speech, language and communication activities.
• Use visual timetables, prompts and structured routines.
• Support social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and wider support team.

Long Term Futures are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in WS1, Walsall, supporting children with autism and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
You'll work with pupils who benefit from additional structure, communication support and targeted interventions, helping them access learning, build confidence and become more independent. The role combines 1:1, small-group and classroom support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils while remaining part of the wider school community.

• Support primary-aged pupils with autism and SLCN
• Deliver targeted speech, language and communication activities

You'll need:

• A Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent in a relevant subject.

• A calm, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
