Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Teaching Assistant in the Oxford area for a SEND provision. This role involves supporting pupils across primary and secondary ages, managing behaviour positively and stepping in as a Cover Supervisor when required.

The successful candidate will have SEMH experience, prior TA experience in schools or similar settings, and a proactive, energetic approach with strong communication skills.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND provision in the Oxford, OX2 area that supports children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The setting is committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence, resilience and independence.

The school is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, with additional day-to-day opportunities available. The successful Teaching Assistant will support pupils across both primary and secondary age groups, providing classroom support, managing behaviour positively and confidently covering lessons when required as a Cover Supervisor.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant within a school or alternative provision
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Confidence leading a classroom and covering lessons when required
• A proactive, energetic and resilient approachExcellent communication and relationship-building skills
