Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with SEND in a Stoke-on-Trent SEND setting. The role focuses on assisting across different Key Stages, supporting learning, and maintaining positive behaviour.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Autism/ASD and SEMH needs, plus strong communication skills and resilience to adapt to individual pupil requirements. Immediate start and long-term placement available.

Qualifications

Teaching Assistant

Location: Stoke-on-Trent


Start Date: Immediate Start


Salary: £95 - £115 per day


Are you a resilient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children and young people with additional needs?


Do you have experience working with pupils with Autism / ASD and SEMH needs?


Are you confident adapting your approach to support pupils across different Key Stages?


TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND setting in the ST7 area of Stoke-on-Trent supporting pupils with Autism / ASD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The setting supports pupils across mixed Key Stages and provides a structured environment focused on helping each pupil engage positively with their education.


The setting is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Teaching Assistant will support pupils across different Key Stages, assist with learning and behaviour management, and work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent support tailored to individual needs.


The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND


  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASD and SEMH needs


  • Experience working across different Key Stages


  • Strong behaviour management skills


  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills


  • A resilient, patient and adaptable approach
