Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking an experienced 1-1 Classroom Support to work in an SEN School in Northampton on a full-time basis. You will provide personalised assistance to students with special educational needs, supporting learning plans and strategies under the guidance of teachers.

The role emphasises building strong rapport with pupils, communicating with parents and staff, and contributing to a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment. DBS checks and references are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people with SEND (autism, learning difficulties, sensory needs)
• Strong communication skills to build rapport with students and staff
• Qualifications in Youth Work, Health and Social Care, or Supporting Teaching and Learning are desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1-1 support to students to help them access learning
• Assist with implementing individual learning plans and promote engagement and independence
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver effective support strategies and maintain regular DBS/references compliance

About you:

To be considered for the 1-1 Classroom Support position, you will:

• Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
• Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
• Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
• Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
