Job summary

Grace Darling CofE Primary School in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Northumberland, invites applications for an SEN Teaching Assistant on a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027. The role is 32.5 hours per week, term time plus five additional days, with a pro rata salary of £20,029–£20,347.

You will work with teachers and the SENCO to provide personalised support, helping pupils access learning and develop independence and confidence.

Qualifications

  • Carry out planned learning activities as agreed with the teacher, adapting materials to suit the needs of the children where necessary.
  • Help ensure all children can access their learning materials and activities.
  • Monitor, record and assess the development of the children and discuss any concerns with the teacher.
  • Support the children's social and emotional wellbeing, helping them feel comfortable in the learning environment.
