Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Morpeth is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with complex needs in an outstanding specialist setting.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group help, assist with communication, learning and social development, and work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to create a safe, encouraging learning environment.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a highly specialist education provider in Morpeth for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their outstanding team.

About the Role:

You’ll support children and young people with a range of complex additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Severe and profound learning difficulties
  • Complex communication needs
  • Sensory impairments
  • Physical disabilities and medical needs
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Supporting communication, learning, and social development
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility where required
  • Encouraging independence and life skills
  • Working alongside teachers, therapists, and specialist support staff
  • Creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
