Job summary

Teaching Personnel, Preston area, is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a temporary to permanent basis to support children with SEN. You will provide 1:1 and small group support across learning activities and therapeutic interventions.

In this role you will help with emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development, working with teachers and therapists to foster a positive learning environment that builds confidence and independence.

Qualifications

  • Experience with SEN, SEMH or Autism desirable.
  • Patience, resilience and adaptability.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Qualifications welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

Preston Area - Competitive Daily Rate - Full-Time - Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist SEN school to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis.This is an excellent opportunity to support children and young people with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, communication difficulties, and associated learning needs. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning and therapeutic interventions.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to create a positive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships that build confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH or Autism is desirable.
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and consistent when supporting pupils with challenging behaviours.
  • Relevant qualifications are welcomed but not essential for candidates with suitable experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
