Job Vacancy: Teaching Assistant (One-to-One Support) - Reception (Non-Verbal Pupil)

Location: Lancaster
Contract: Full-Time, long term - ongoing
Start Date: September 2025

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a non-verbal Reception pupil starting this September in a primary school in Lancaster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to a non-verbal Reception pupil in the classroom

  • Assist with communication and learning activities tailored to the pupil's individual needs

  • Support the pupil's social development and independence

  • Work closely with teachers, speech and language therapists, and other professionals

  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the team and family

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with young children, ideally with communication difficulties or non-verbal pupils

  • Patience, empathy, and strong understanding of alternative communication methods

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to learn

  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEND or communication support desirable
