Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is seeking a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large, ambitious school in the Huntingdon area. You will provide one-to-one support to children with additional needs within a mainstream classroom, helping them access learning and build confidence.

The role requires a patient, empathetic approach, with the ability to adapt activities, support emotional regulation, and collaborate with the SENCO to implement EHCP targets.

Responsibilities

SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Huntingdon
  • Salary: £93 to £105 per day
  • Start Date: September 2026

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large and ambitious school in the Huntingdon area of Cambridgeshire. This role involves supporting children with additional needs, providing consistent one-on-one assistance to help them access learning, build confidence, and thrive in a mainstream classroom environment.

About the role
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, or additional learning needs)
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs and support their educational and personal development
  • Assist with emotional regulation and implement positive behaviour strategies
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets
  • Encourage independence, engagement, and social interaction to foster a supportive learning environment
Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, whether in a school, care, or similar background

Salary

£93 to £105 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
