Job description

Teaching Personnel are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).


We are looking for a SEN Teacher to work in an inclusive SEN school in Hillingdon. The ideal SEN Teacher will have a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Hillingdon.


Role responsibilities
  1. Responsible for the planning and delivery of high-quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
  2. Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
  3. Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
  4. Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
  5. Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes.
Requirements
  1. Hold qualified teacher status (QTS).
  2. Have a strong basic education to degree level.
  3. Previous successful teaching experience.
  4. Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting.
  5. Experience of behaviour management and techniques.
  6. Committed to professional development and willing to learn.
  7. Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.
