Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join a school in Guildford on a day-to-day basis or long-term contract. You will support pupils with special educational needs, adapt activities, and work closely with teachers to raise attainment.

The role requires GCSEs in English and Maths, Level 2/3 TA qualification is desirable, and DBS clearance (update service) or willingness to obtain one. Working hours are 9:30-3:30.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or higher.
• Experience with children or young people, preferably SEN.
• Strong communication, empathy, and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN in class activities.
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and adaptations.
• Monitor progress and behaviour, report to teaching staff.

We are searching for an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join our school based in Guildford on a day-to-day basis / long term contract basis.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Qualifications: GCSEs in English and Mathematics (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent standard). Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
• Prior experience working with children or young people, preferably within SEN.
• Strong communication skills, patience, emotional resilience, and a proactive approach.
• High levels of empathy, professionalism, and the ability to build trust with challenging or vulnerable pupils.
• Enhanced child and adult workforce DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo one.

Working Hours: 9:30-3:30

Salary: £88-£100 a day
