Job summary

Supply Desk in Berkhamsted is looking for a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated primary SEN unit. You will support pupils with diverse needs in a nurturing, structured setting within the school’s SEN resource base.

Qualifications

  • Experience with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
  • Understanding of ASC, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs, or SEMH challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with additional learning, communication and social needs in the SEN provision.
  • Deliver structured learning activities and intervention programmes.
  • Help pupils develop communication, emotional regulation and social skills.
  • Encourage independence through problem-solving, decision-making and self-care.
  • Assist with transitions between SEN provision and mainstream classes.
  • Prepare learning resources and adapt materials to individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil achievements and contribute to reviews.

Salary: £87 - £110 per day

Supply Desk is seeking a motivated and caring Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive primary school in the Berkhamsted area. What You'll Do

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs is desirable
  • An understanding of needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges
