Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and supportive primary school in Colchester, starting ASAP. This role involves assisting pupils with Special Educational Needs in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis, with a focus on effective behaviour management and inclusive learning.

The candidate will have experience with SEN, ASD, ADHD or SEMH needs, and hold or be willing to obtain safeguarding training.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a UK primary school setting (placements accepted).
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs is desirable.
• Relevant TA, SEN, or childcare qualifications desirable.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEN in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis.
• Implement behaviour management strategies to support inclusion.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Colchester - ASAP Start

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm, supportive primary school in Colchester, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and looking to develop their career within a nurturing school environment that offers strong mentorship and ongoing professional development.

The school is looking for a committed practitioner with effective behaviour management skills and a genuine desire to inspire and support pupils with additional needs across the primary age range.

CONTRACT DETAILS

• Location - Colchester
• Position - SEN Teaching Assistant
• Type of work - Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis
• Start date - ASAP
• Duration - Ongoing / Long-term
• Full time/part-time - Full time
• Rate of pay - £90-£100 per day (depending on experience)
• Hours - 08:30am - 15:45pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a UK primary school setting (placements accepted)
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs is desirable
• Relevant TA, SEN, or childcare qualifications desirable
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional child-related references
