Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Havering is seeking a passionate Special Needs Assistant to support a pupil on a 1-1 basis in a mainstream school. You will help the child participate in age-appropriate learning activities and work with the teacher to adapt approaches.

You will also assist with personal care where needed and coordinate with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent support and safeguarding for the pupil.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications and training for this role.
• Experience supporting pupils in mainstream education.
• DBS check and safeguarding training are required.

Responsibilities

• Support a pupil on a 1-1 basis within a mainstream setting.
• Help the pupil engage in age-appropriate learning activities.
• Use a range of approaches under teacher guidance to support learning.

The role

• You will support a pupil on a 1-1 ratio.

• Help child engage in age related learning
• Using a variety of approaches to support pupil instructed by teacher
• Supporting with personal care where required
• Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to make sure pupils receive consistent support
• Use variety of resources to engage pupil into learning to help pupil develop at own pace.
