Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a school in Garstang, Lancashire. This full-time, term-time position supports pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.

You will work one-to-one or in small groups, assisting teachers to create an inclusive classroom and promote positive behaviour. You should have experience supporting children with SEND, be patient and empathetic, and have strong communication skills.

SEN Teaching Assistant Required in Garstang

The Role

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
• Assist children with SEND, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
• Help pupils develop their social, emotional, and communication skills
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

The Ideal Candidate

• Has previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Is patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
• Is able to work effectively as part of a team
• Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable but not essential)
