Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teacher for Ashley Park School in Walton-on-Thames. You’ll adapt lessons to individual needs, build strong relationships, and support pupils to overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

Join a dedicated team at a specialist school focused on inclusive education. You’ll work 37.5 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, in a permanent contract starting January 2027, with DBS and safeguarding requirements in place.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in SEND provision.

  • Strong communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
  • Create an inclusive classroom where every achievement is recognised and celebrated.
  • Develop and review personalised learning plans, including IEPs and behaviour support strategies.
  • Monitor progress, identify next steps and celebrate every milestone.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and external professionals to provide exceptional support.
  • Promote positive behaviour through consistency, understanding and high expectations.
  • Safeguard the wellbeing of every pupil and help create a nurturing learning environment.

Ashley Park School is located in the market town on the south bank of the Thames in the borough of Surrey, within the Greater London built-up area. The school is accessible via a range of transport routes. The specialist school caters for young people with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs.

The school’s aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, enabling pupils to access a broad, balanced, engaging and rich curriculum.

For over 16 years, Options Autism has provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, the organisation delivers education approaches designed to provide measurable outcomes for people in its care.
