Job summary

Aspire People in Peterborough are seeking enthusiastic SEN Teachers to support pupils aged 4-19 with severe learning difficulties and complex needs in a specialist setting.

You will differentiate lessons, use multisensory approaches, work with TAs and families, and contribute to EHCP outcomes while maintaining a nurturing classroom.

Experience in SEND is preferred, but capable teachers with QTS and a passion for inclusive education are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND preferred.
• Understanding of autism, SEND and complex needs.
• Ability to differentiate learning to meet individual pupil needs.
• Strong classroom management and positive behaviour support.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons for pupils with severe/complex needs.
• Adapt teaching approaches to cognitive, communication, sensory and physical needs.
• Use multisensory, practical learning to promote progress.
• Support EHCP targets and pupil independence.
• Create a nurturing, structured classroom environment.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, families and external professionals.
• Encourage communication, social development and life skills.
• Monitor progress and celebrate individual achievements.
