Wessex Lodge School in Frome is seeking an outstanding SENCO to lead SEND provision within our therapeutic setting. You will shape strategy, ensure compliance, and champion inclusive education for pupils with complex needs.

You will collaborate with teachers, therapists and families to secure tailored support, monitor progress with data, and develop staff expertise in trauma-informed approaches. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to influence whole-school culture.

Qualifications

• Qualified with the NASENCO or willing to complete within three years.
• Experience supporting pupils with complex SEND (SEMH/ASC).
• Knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop SEND provision reflecting legislation and inclusive ethos.
• Oversee identification, assessment and support for SEND pupils.
• Lead EHCP development and statutory compliance with involvement from pupils and families.
• Monitor progress and use data to drive interventions.
• Coach staff in SEND practice and trauma-informed approaches.
• Collaborate with education, therapy and care teams for holistic support.
• Build partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies.
• Contribute to school improvement and inspection readiness.
