Job summary

Polaris Education - Becker School in Batley is seeking a SEN Teacher to support pupils aged 5 to 13 within an inclusive setting. The role requires delivering high-quality lessons aligned to the national curriculum while addressing ASC and SEMH needs.

The position is full-time, term-time only, 37.5 hours per week, with a basic salary of 28,000 to 39,520, and benefits including a company pension, life assurance and staff discounts. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status (QTS) is required.
• Degree-level qualification is required or clearly implied.
• Previous successful teaching experience, preferably KS1/2.
• Experience of working with pupils with SEND within an educational setting.
• Experience of behaviour management and strategies.
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn.
• Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to commencing work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high quality lessons within the national curriculum while meeting ASC & SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with school staff to ensure needs are met.
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
