Job summary

Polaris Education - Becker School in Dewsbury seeks a SEN Teacher to plan and deliver high-quality lessons for pupils aged 5–13, with ASC & SEMH needs. The role requires QTS, a degree, and experience with SEND. DBS clearance is expected prior to starting.

Qualifications

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS).
• Suitable qualification to degree level.
• Previous successful teaching experience, preferably KS1/2.
• Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEND within an educational setting.
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques.
• Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn.
• Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to commencing work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum addressing ASC & SEMH needs.
• Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including activities and trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and drive positive learning outcomes.
