Job summary

Polaris Education - Becker School in Batley seeks a dedicated SEN Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum for pupils aged 5 to 13, with ASC and SEMH needs. This full-time, term-time-only role is 37.5 hours per week and offers a salary of 28,000–39,520.

Qualifications

  • Hold qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • Degree-level qualification.
  • Experience teaching KS1/KS2 preferred.
  • Experience with SEND pupils in education.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum for ASC/SEMH needs.
  • Support the class team in facilitating learning and promoting positive behaviours.
  • Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and during trips/activities.
  • Build positive relationships and drive positive learning outcomes.

About our School

Located in Batley, Kirklees our new school offers a safe and supportive environment for pupils from 5 to 13 years old.

Role responsibilities
  • Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex ASC & SEMH needs of all pupils.
  • Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
  • Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils needs are met
  • Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips
  • Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes
Requirements
  • Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Suitable qualification to degree level
  • Previous successful teaching experience, preferably teaching KS1/2
  • Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEND within an Educational setting
  • Experience of behaviour management and techniques
  • Committed to professional development and willing to learn
  • Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, cost of which will be met by Polaris Education.
