Job summary

Polaris Education - Becker School in Batley seeks a SEN Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons for pupils aged 5–13, tailored to ASC & SEMH needs within the national curriculum. The role involves collaboration with the school team to support behaviour and learning outcomes.

The successful candidate will hold QTS, have a degree-level qualification, and demonstrate experience with SEND. DBS checks are required before commencement.

  • Experience teaching KS1/KS2 is desirable.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND is preferred.
  • DBS check will be completed prior to starting.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high quality lessons within the national curriculum while meeting ASC & SEMH needs.
  • Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
  • Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time including trips.
  • Build positive relationships and drive engaging learning outcomes.

Basic Salary: 28,000 - 39,520


Contract: Full Time, Term time only


Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About our School

Located in Batley, Kirklees our new school offers a safe and supportive environment for pupils from 5 to 13 years old.

Role responsibilities


  • Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex ASC & SEMH needs of all pupils.

  • Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.

  • Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils needs are met

  • Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips

  • Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes


Requirements


  • Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)

  • Suitable qualification to degree level

  • Previous successful teaching experience, preferably teaching KS1/2

  • Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEND within an Educational setting

  • Experience of behaviour management and techniques

  • Committed to professional development and willing to learn

  • Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work
