Job summary

Remedy Education is partnering with SEN schools in Chigwell to recruit dedicated SEN Teachers for immediate start. Roles cover primary and secondary settings, full-time, long-term with potential to become permanent.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual needs, adapt curriculum content for diverse abilities, and work with SEN support staff to monitor progress. QTS or equivalent and PGCE are required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• PGCE or equivalent training.
• Experience or strong interest in SEN education (primary or secondary).
• Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
• Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.
• Commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils across primary and/or secondary SEN settings depending on placement.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress.
• Use a range of strategies to support communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation.
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists, and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Implement and follow EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
• Support positive behaviour management strategies across the classroom.
