Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher in the Billericay area to work across primary and secondary SEN schools. The role is full-time, long-term with potential to become permanent, starting ASAP.

You will plan and deliver tailored lessons, adapt curricula for diverse needs, and collaborate with therapists and school teams to support pupil progress. Applicants should hold QTS and PGCE or equivalent, with experience or strong interest in SEN education, excellent classroom management,

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• PGCE or equivalent training.
• Experience or strong interest in SEN education (primary or secondary).
• Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
• Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.
• Commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils across primary and/or secondary SEN settings depending on placement.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress.
• Use a range of strategies to support communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation.
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists, and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations and EHCP targets.
• Support positive behaviour management strategies across the classroom.
