Job summary

Kent Teaching Solutions in Chatham, Medway, is seeking a dedicated SEN English teacher to support students with ASD in a small independent SEN setting. You will deliver GCSE/Functional Skills English and help learners build confidence and language skills.

Plan engaging lessons, collaborate with TAs, Therapists, and the SENCO, and contribute to EHCP reviews while promoting literacy through creative strategies. QTS/QTLS and ASD/SEN experience preferred.

Salary/Rate: £32,916 – £45,350/annum

We are looking for a passionate Teacher to join our Secondary SEN team, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to develop confidence, communication, and a love for language. Preferably, you will be an English Teacher or have experience delivering English at GCSE or Functional Skills level.

The Role

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons (KS3–KS4) for students with ASD and additional needs.

The School

• This is a small, independent SEN school for learners with a diagnosis of autism.
• A bespoke pathway has been created to meet the needs of the learners.
• It is a collaborative school, liaising with all parties to create an ideal environment.
• Careful class groupings, between 5 and 8 pupils, not necessarily linear.
• All pupils have an EHCP.
• Counsellor, SALT, and wellbeing practitioners on site to work alongside educational staff.
