Plan engaging lessons, collaborate with TAs, Therapists, and the SENCO, and contribute to EHCP reviews while promoting literacy through creative strategies. QTS/QTLS and ASD/SEN experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Holds QTS/QTLS (or is working towards it).
  • Experience teaching English at GCSE or Functional Skills levels.
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with ASD or SEN.
  • Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a commitment to inclusive learning.
  • Can adapt lessons creatively to meet a range of needs and abilities.
  • Enjoys being part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated English lessons (KS3–KS4) for students with ASD and additional needs.
  • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, Therapists, and the SENCO.
  • Support individual learning goals and contribute to EHCP reviews.
  • Promote literacy and social communication through creative teaching strategies.
