We are working with a well-established primary special school in the northern part of Birmingham that is looking for a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teacher / ECT to join their team starting in September 2025. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive setting for students aged 4-11 with a range of special educational needs, ensuring each child receives the support they deserve in a small class environment with a high staff-to-pupil ratio.

SEN Teacher / ECT - Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to students with a range of special educational needs
  • Collaborate with the SENCo, teaching assistants, and other staff to create and implement individual learning plans
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and carers
  • Contribute to students’ academic, emotional, and social development

SEN Teacher / ECT - What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an ECT on track to qualify by summer 2025
  • Experience working with students with SEN, either in a teaching or support role
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Patience, creativity, and a proactive teaching approach
  • A deep commitment to inclusion and the success of every student
