SEN Teacher / SEN ECT – About the Role

As an SEN Teacher / SEN ECT, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering personalised lessons that cater to a wide range of needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH
  • Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can thrive
  • Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including TAs, therapists, and SENCOs, to develop EHCPs and learning plans
  • Using a variety of strategies and interventions to promote engagement, independence, and progress
  • Monitoring and assessing pupils' progress, and adapting teaching accordingly
  • Building strong relationships with parents and carers to support learning beyond the classroom

SEN Teacher / SEN ECT – Candidate Specification

As SEN Teacher / SEN ECT we will be looking for:

  • Holds or is working towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school or in a placement).
  • Demonstrates empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
  • Possesses strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Is confident working collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external agencies.
