Job summary

Reed in Peterborough is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our Deaf Hub team on a part-time basis (4 days per week) with an ASAP start. This role supports hearing-impaired students and helps deliver tailored educational activities in a welcoming environment.

You will assist the classroom teacher, facilitate communication using British Sign Language, prepare resources, and collaborate with audiologists and speech therapists to implement support plans.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with hearing-impaired students or in a similar educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A caring and patient approach with the ability to encourage and inspire confidence in students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of a lead teacher.

  • Monitor and support the progress and well-being of students within the hub.
