Job summary

Teach Plus Limited in Tower Hamlets is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teacher to lead a specialist ASD class of 10 pupils, starting January 2027. You will deliver structured, personalised learning in a nurturing environment.

The role requires autism-friendly approaches, consistent routines, and collaboration with Teaching Assistants and families to support each pupil's development. A supportive school team, opportunities to adapt lessons, and a commitment to inclusive education are offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised UK teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with ASD or other additional needs desirable.
• Understanding of autism-friendly teaching approaches and differentiation.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Patient, organised and nurturing approach.
• Able to work effectively with Teaching Assistants and other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons suited to pupils with ASD.
• Adapt activities to meet individual learning and developmental needs.
• Use visual timetables, structured routines and communication strategies where appropriate.
• Promote communication, interaction, independence and social development.
• Establish a calm, predictable and positive learning environment.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
• Monitor progress and contribute to individual pupil targets.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Liaise with colleagues and families to support consistency.
