Job summary

Academics is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming SEN school in East Sussex for an SEN Teacher to start in September. This full-time, permanent role offers the chance to make a lasting impact in a nurturing learning environment.

You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with a range of needs, including ASC, ADHD and SEMH, working closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and parents to support progress. A UK QTS is required.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching children with SEN in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of adaptive teaching and inclusive practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour management.

Responsibilities

Academics is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive SEN school in East Sussex, seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their experienced team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.


The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:



  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs.

  • Support pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.

  • Foster a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.

  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, parents and the wider school team to support pupil progress.

  • Assess, monitor and adapt learning to ensure every pupil reaches their full potential.


Requirements


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs within the UK.

  • A strong understanding of adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice.

  • Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour management skills.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
