Job summary

TLTP Education seeks a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting in Buckinghamshire. You will plan, deliver and assess differentiated lessons tailored to each learner, supporting pupils with SEN and complex needs.

The role offers a supportive, collaborative environment with access to multidisciplinary teams, ongoing SEN training and opportunities to contribute to annual reviews and wider school life.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN in specialist or mainstream settings.
  • Experience supporting pupils with complex needs including ASD, SLD, PMLD, communications and sensory needs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning programmes in line with EHCP outcomes.
  • Support pupils with a range of complex learning, communication and sensory needs.
  • Foster positive relationships that promote confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals.
  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and positive behaviour.
  • Contribute to annual reviews, multi-disciplinary meetings and wider school life.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with a range of additional learning needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN professional or an enthusiastic teacher looking to develop their career within specialist education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning programmes in line with EHCP outcomes.
  • Support pupils with a range of complex learning, communication and sensory needs.

About You

We are looking for a teacher who has:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in either specialist or mainstream settings.
  • Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, including:
    • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
    • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
    • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
    • Communication and interaction needs
    • Sensory processing differences
    • Physical disabilities and medical needs (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of differentiated teaching strategies and inclusive practice.
  • Experience working with alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton or AAC (desirable).
  • A calm, patient and adaptable approach with excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
