Job summary

Polaris Education is seeking a SEN Class Teacher for Northwich, Cheshire. The role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons for pupils with complex SEMH needs within the national curriculum and contributing to a safe, positive learning environment.

You will work with a supportive team, report pupil progress, mentor colleagues, and participate in wider school activities. QTS and a degree are essential, with DBS checks required prior to starting.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Degree level education is required.
• Prior teaching experience with SEMH pupils is desirable.
• Experience in behaviour management and safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high quality lessons within the national curriculum for SEMH pupils.
• Support the class team and promote positive behaviours.
• Report pupil progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and on trips.
• Build positive relationships to drive learning outcomes.

Basic Salary: £28,000 - £39,520

Contract: Full Time, Term time only

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Role responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils needs are met
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips
• Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes

Requirements

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)
• Have a strong basic education to degree level
• Previous successful teaching experience
• Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn
• Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.
