Job summary

Polaris Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Class Teacher for Banbury School in Banbury, Oxon. The role focuses on delivering high quality lessons within the national curriculum and meeting the SEMH needs of pupils.

You will join a supportive team, report on pupil progress, supervise trips, and contribute to a holistic approach to learning. A DBS check will be required, and driving is essential.

Qualifications

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS) and a degree.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
• Proven behaviour management skills and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the national curriculum while meeting SEMH needs.
• Support the class team in enabling learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to ensure needs are met.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including activities and trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils to drive engagement and learning outcomes.

Role responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and delivery of high quality lessons within the national curriculum whilst meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other School staff to ensure pupils needs are met.
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
• Building positive relationships with your pupil/s and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes.

Requirements

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS)
• Have a strong basic education to degree level
• Previous successful teaching experience
• Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an Educational setting
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn
• Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work
• It is essential that you drive and have your own transport.
