Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher for a full-time position in Slough, starting October 2026. You will deliver high-quality education to students with SEND, designing engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.

You will work closely with TAs, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop IEPs, monitor progress, and ensure safeguarding and wellbeing. Flexible working and ongoing professional development are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for SEND students.
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs and ensure access to the curriculum.
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships to create a safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with TAs, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide consistent support.
  • Contribute to IEPs and other support plans as required.
  • Provide pastoral and emotional support to help students develop confidence and resilience.
  • Communicate progress with parents, carers and colleagues; participate in wider school activities.

About the Role

Are you a passionate, dedicated, and experienced SEN Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a committed SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you will play a key role in providing high-quality education and support to students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of students with SEND.
  • Adapt teaching strategies, resources, and activities to ensure all students can access the curriculum and make meaningful progress.
  • Develop positive and trusting relationships with students, creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support students with a range of special educational needs, which may include Autism, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, communication needs, and other additional needs.
  • Set clear learning objectives and use appropriate assessment strategies to monitor and track students' progress.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure students receive consistent and effective support.
  • Develop and contribute to Individual Education Plans and other relevant support plans where required.
  • Provide appropriate pastoral and emotional support, helping students develop confidence, independence, resilience, and positive attitudes towards learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour through effective classroom management and appropriate behaviour support strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, carers, colleagues, and other professionals regarding students' progress, development, and wellbeing.
  • Support students during wider school activities, trips, break times, and other school initiatives where required.
  • Ensure safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and school policies are followed at all times.
Requirements
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEND.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of different special educational needs and appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to promote positive behaviour.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to inclusion and ensuring every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
