TeacherActive is supporting a specialist SEN setting in Oldbury to recruit an SEN English Teacher for KS2–KS4 with SEMH pupils. The role focuses on delivering English lessons in a nurturing, therapeutic environment, adapting content to individual needs and maintaining calm classroom routines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEN setting in Oldbury supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The setting provides a nurturing and supportive environment, with a therapeutic approach focused on helping pupils feel safe, build confidence and re-engage positively with education.

The school is looking to appoint an SEN English Teacher on a long‑term basis with an immediate start. The successful SEN English Teacher will teach English across KS2-KS4, adapting lessons to meet individual needs while using a calm and consistent approach to support pupils with SEMH.

The successful SEN English Teacher will have:

• QTS with a strong English teaching background
• Experience teaching English across KS2-KS4
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to adapt teaching within a therapeutic and nurturing environment
• A patient, resilient and compassionate approach
