Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a specialist SEN setting in Oldbury to recruit an SEN English Teacher for a long-term, immediate-start role. The post covers KS2 to KS4 English, with lessons tailored to meet individual needs within a nurturing, therapeutic environment.

The successful applicant will have QTS and experience across KS2-KS4, plus a strong track record in supporting pupils with SEMH and managing behavioural challenges in a calm, compassionate manner.

Qualifications

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEN setting in Oldbury supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The setting provides a nurturing and supportive environment, with a therapeutic approach focused on helping pupils feel safe, build confidence and re-engage positively with education.

The school is looking to appoint an SEN English Teacher on a long‑term basis with an immediate start. The successful SEN English Teacher will teach English across KS2-KS4, adapting lessons to meet individual needs while using a calm and consistent approach to support pupils with SEMH.

The successful SEN English Teacher will have:

• QTS with a strong English teaching background
• Experience teaching English across KS2-KS4
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to adapt teaching within a therapeutic and nurturing environment
• A patient, resilient and compassionate approach
