Job summary

Randstad Education in Taunton is seeking a compassionate SEN Supply Teacher to support primary and secondary pupils across EYFS to KS4. You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons and collaborate with school staff to meet individual education plans.

This flexible day-to-day role focuses on pupils with SEMH, ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities. You will maintain safeguarding standards and adapt quickly to different school environments within Taunton and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is required (ECTs/NQTs with SEN experience welcomed).
  • Proven track record with SEMH, ADHD, ASC, or learning disabilities.
  • Able to work across Primary and Secondary settings at short notice.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver differentiated SEN lessons planned by permanent staff for EYFS to KS4.
  • Provide tailored support for SEMH, ADHD, ASC and Learning Disabilities.
  • Apply trauma-informed approaches and safeguarding policies in class.
  • Collaborate with HLTA/TA and SENCO to implement IEPs.
  • Maintain safe, inclusive environments and follow school policies.

SEN Supply Teacher (Primary & Secondary) - Taunton

Are you a compassionate, adaptable, and skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher looking for flexible day-to-day work? We are seeking dedicated educators to join our team to support mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions across the Taunton area. If you are passionate about creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every pupil feels supported to learn and succeed, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:
  • Adaptable Teaching: Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons planned by permanent staff, tailored to meet diverse SEN needs across EYFS and Key Stages 1-4.
  • Specialist Support: Provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), ADHD, Autism (ASC), and Learning Disabilities (SLD/MLD).
  • Behaviour Support: Use positive behaviour management strategies and trauma-informed approaches to de-escalate challenging situations and foster a safe classroom environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), Teaching Assistants (TAs), and school SENCOs to deliver individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Safe Working: Maintain high standards of safeguarding and follow all school policies regarding pupil well-being.
Qualifications:
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is required. (ECTs/NQTs with relevant SEN experience are welcome to apply).
  • Experience: Proven track record of working with children or young people with SEMH, ADHD, Autism, or Learning Disabilities.
  • Flexibility: Comfortable stepping into different school environments across both Primary and Secondary settings at short notice.
  • Key Skills: Excellent communication, emotional resilience, patience, and a calm, empathetic approach under pressure.
  • DBS: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
