Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a flexible SEN Supply Teacher to support both Primary and Secondary settings in the Taunton area. You will deliver prepared lessons and adapt them to meet diverse SEN needs, while working with school staff to support individual education plans.

The role requires QTS or QTLS and experience with SEMH, ADHD, ASC, or LD. A DBS on Update Service is preferred, and you should be comfortable stepping into different schools on short notice.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is required.
  • ECTs/NQTs with relevant SEN experience are welcome to apply.
  • Proven track record supporting SEMH, ADHD, ASC or learning disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver differentiated SEN lessons tailored to EYFS and KS1–KS4.
  • Provide tailored SEMH, ADHD, ASC or LD support as part of a team.
  • Apply positive behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Collaborate with HLTA/TA and SENCO to deliver IEPs.
  • Maintain safeguarding standards and follow school policies.

Job description

SEN Supply Teacher (Primary & Secondary) - Taunton

Are you a compassionate, adaptable, and skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher looking for flexible day-to-day work? We are seeking dedicated educators to join our team to support mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions across the Taunton area. Responsibilities:
  • Adaptable Teaching: Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons planned by permanent staff, tailored to meet diverse SEN needs across EYFS and Key Stages 1-4.
  • Specialist Support: Provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), ADHD, Autism (ASC), and Learning Disabilities (SLD/MLD).
  • Behaviour Support: Use positive behaviour management strategies and trauma-informed approaches to de-escalate challenging situations and foster a safe classroom environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), Teaching Assistants (TAs), and school SENCOs to deliver individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Safe Working: Maintain high standards of safeguarding and follow all school policies regarding pupil well-being.
Qualifications:
