Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a compassionate SEN Supply Teacher for Taunton, covering Primary and Secondary settings. You will deliver adaptable, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN and work within mainstream schools and specialist provisions.

Ideal candidates hold QTS or QTLS and have a track record with SEMH, ADHD, ASC, or learning disabilities. You will collaborate with school staff to support IEPs, uphold safeguarding, and provide reliable, flexible cover across EYFS to KS4.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) required.
  • Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Flexibility to work across Primary and Secondary settings on short notice

Responsibilities

  • Deliver differentiated lessons for diverse SEN needs across EYFS to KS4.
  • Provide tailored support for SEMH, ADHD, ASC, and Learning Disabilities
  • Apply trauma-informed approaches and positive behaviour strategies in class
  • Collaborate with HLTA/TAs and SENCOs to implement IEPs
  • Ensure safeguarding and school policies are followed

Job description

SEN Supply Teacher (Primary & Secondary) - Taunton

Are you a compassionate, adaptable, and skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher looking for flexible day-to-day work? We are seeking dedicated educators to join our team to support mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions across the Taunton area. If you are passionate about creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every pupil feels supported to learn and succeed, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:
  • Adaptable Teaching: Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons planned by permanent staff, tailored to meet diverse SEN needs across EYFS and Key Stages 1-4.
  • Specialist Support: Provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), ADHD, Autism (ASC), and Learning Disabilities (SLD/MLD).
  • Behaviour Support: Use positive behaviour management strategies and trauma-informed approaches to de-escalate challenging situations and foster a safe classroom environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), Teaching Assistants (TAs), and school SENCOs to deliver individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Safe Working: Maintain high standards of safeguarding and follow all school policies regarding pupil well-being.
Qualifications:
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is required. (ECTs/NQTs with relevant SEN experience are welcome to apply).
  • Experience: Proven track record of working with children or young people with SEMH, ADHD, Autism, or Learning Disabilities.
  • Flexibility: Comfortable stepping into different school environments across both Primary and Secondary settings at short notice.
  • Key Skills: Excellent communication, emotional resilience, patience, and a calm, empathetic approach under pressure.
  • DBS: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
