Job summary

Uniform Education is seeking a passionate SEN Teacher with QTS to join a specialist school in Uxbridge from September 2026, teaching a KS3 class of pupils with lower MLD.

You will plan differentiated lessons, work with teaching assistants and therapists, support EHCP outcomes, monitor progress, and contribute to reviews; personal care may be required.

The role offers full-time, term-time only hours, with a supportive leadership team and well-resourced classrooms.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • Experience teaching in an SEN setting or with additional needs is essential.
  • Ability to differentiate learning for pupils with a range of needs is required.
  • Right to Work in the UK and DBS in Update Service are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS3.

  • Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support pupils' academic progress, communication, confidence and independence.

SEN Teacher (QTS Required)

Hours: Monday – Friday, Full-Time, Term-Time Only

About the Role

A specialist SEN school in Uxbridge is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach a KS3 class of pupils with lower Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) within a supportive and well-resourced learning environment.

You will be responsible for delivering the majority of the curriculum, planning engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of each pupil. Working alongside experienced teaching assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally while preparing them for greater independence.

Personal care may be required depending on the individual needs of the pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the majority of the KS3 curriculum
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual EHCP outcomes and learning needs
  • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support pupils' academic progress, communication, confidence, and independence
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider school team
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews, annual reviews, and school development
  • Promote positive behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies
  • Support with personal care where required
What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within an SEN setting or supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to differentiate learning for pupils with a range of needs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Patient, adaptable, and resilient approach
  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service
  • Ability to provide two professional references covering the last two years
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Comfortable providing personal care where required

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting pupils with MLD, ASD, SLD, or communication needs
  • Knowledge of personalised learning and EHCPs
  • Experience within a specialist SEN school
  • Understanding of communication and sensory-based teaching approaches
