Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive Alternative Provision near Colchester, starting ASAP. The role is full-time, involves teaching students with Special Educational Needs, and offers a daily rate of £165–£215 depending on experience. Hours are 08:30am to 15:30pm.

Applicants should hold QTS/QTLS or equivalent, have SEN experience, and be prepared to work in a setting supporting additional needs. Right to work in the UK and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS or equivalent)
• Experience teaching children or young people with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs
• Experience in Alternative Provision, SEN School, PRU or mainstream setting supporting additional needs is desirable
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Teach students with Special Educational Needs in an Alternative Provision near Colchester.
• Support the learning and behaviour management in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
• Contribute to safeguarding and maintaining a safe, productive classroom.

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive Alternative Provision near Colchester, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate teacher who is committed to supporting students with additional needs and helping them overcome barriers to learning within a nurturing and inclusive educational setting.

The provision is looking for a resilient, adaptable practitioner with strong behaviour management skills and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS or equivalent)
• Experience teaching children or young people with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs
• Experience working within an Alternative Provision, SEN School, PRU or mainstream setting supporting additional needs is desirable
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
• Provide two professional child-related references
