Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and experienced SEN Teachers to work in specialist schools and inclusive educational settings across Chesterfield. Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience with pupils who have Special Educational Needs is desirable.
  • Knowledge of ASC, ADHD, and Speech and Language needs is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, patience and classroom management.
  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet individual needs.
  • Create a safe, inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans and adapt teaching strategies to support diverse needs.
  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress; provide regular feedback to parents and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, SENCOs and other professionals to achieve best outcomes.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and independence.
  • Maintain safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans and adapt teaching strategies to support a range of learning needs.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide the best possible outcomes for pupils.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and ensure the welfare of all pupils.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of a range of SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and Moderate or Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, patience, and classroom management skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
