Thrive Group is seeking an outstanding SEN Teacher for a long-term post in a prestigious secondary school in the L36 area. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons for students with MLD, ASD, and Epilepsy, working 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM in a dedicated SEN department.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the SENCO, therapists, and teaching assistants to ensure tailored support and effective EHCP processes, with competitive pay scales and strong career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS required.
• Experience teaching SEN secondary pupils (MLD/ASD focus preferred).
• Familiarity with EHCP processes and targets.

Responsibilities

• Create a structured, sensory-friendly classroom environment.

The successful candidate will teach tailored curriculum pathways to students with Mild Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Epilepsy. Hours are 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM, providing a structured and rewarding working routine within a state-of-the-art SEN department.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated secondary lessons tailored to pupils with MLD and ASD.
• Create a structured, sensory-friendly classroom environment conducive to learning and well-being.
• Collaborate with SENCO, Therapists, and TAs to ensure complete support for pupils with Epilepsy and SEN conditions.
• Utilize visual aids, structured routines, and adaptive learning strategies.
• Write and update EHCP reviews, target tracking, and progress reports.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
• Substantial experience teaching SEN secondary pupils (MLD/ASD focus preferred).
• Sound knowledge of differentiated secondary curriculum pathways and EHCP processes.
• Strong classroom leadership and ability to deploy support staff effectively.
• DBS on the Update Service.
