Job summary

Thrive Group is seeking an outstanding SEN Teacher for a long-term position at a prestigious, Outstanding Secondary School in the L36 area. You will teach tailored curriculum pathways to students with MLD, ASD, and Epilepsy, with a fixed daily schedule from 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM.

The successful candidate will have QTS/QTLS, substantial SEN secondary experience, and strong leadership to deploy support staff within a state-of-the-art SEN department. DBS Update Service is required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
• Substantial experience teaching SEN secondary pupils (MLD/ASD focus preferred).
• Sound knowledge of differentiated secondary curriculum pathways and EHCP processes.
• Strong classroom leadership and ability to deploy support staff effectively.
• DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated secondary lessons tailored to pupils with MLD and ASD.
• Create a structured, sensory-friendly classroom environment conducive to learning and well-being.
• Collaborate with SENCO, Therapists, and TAs to ensure complete support for pupils with Epilepsy and SEN conditions.
• Utilize visual aids, structured routines, and adaptive learning strategies.
• Write and update EHCP reviews, target tracking, and progress reports.
