Job summary

Prospero Teaching seeks a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to support young people with Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties at an Alternative Provision in Blackpool. The role requires experience with challenging behaviors and a commitment to helping students who need additional support. Ideal candidates will have Safeguarding training and a willingness to train in Team Teach.

Prospero Teaching are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support young people with SEN & SEMH needs at an Alternative Provision in Blackpool.
Often the students in this provision will have autism, ADHD, SEMH, or trauma, and are disengaged from mainstream education.

You must have experience working with children who display challenging behaviours, preferably with de-escalation training. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, understanding and keen to support young people who need that little bit extra. You must be confident working on a 1-1 basis and be comfortable dealing with students who may display more complex or challenging behaviours.

• Role: SEN TA
• Location: Blackpool
• Hours: 0830:1530 (during term time)
• Minimum rate of pay: £95 per day (dependant on experience)
• Type of work: Temporary
• Full time/part time: Full time only
• Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• Up to date Safeguarding training in the last year (can be provided if needed)
• Previous experience with Team Teach training, or willing to be trained in it
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant is preferred

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional references
