Salary: GBP110 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Long-term Temp
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am 3:30 pm)

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 student with cerebral palsy and quadriplegia. The student requires assistance with mobility, daily activities, and learning, both in the classroom and outside of school. This is a highly rewarding role where youll help the child access her education, participate in activities, and support her social and emotional development.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with physical disabilities, be comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting, and provide speech and language support as needed. Additionally, the role requires assisting the child with swimming sessions twice a week.

Key Responsibilities:

1:1 SEN Support: Provide dedicated support to a Year 3 student in a wheelchair, assisting with mobility, communication, and classroom activities.
Manual Handling & Lifting: Comfortable with manual handling tasks, including lifting and transferring the child, and assisting with personal care as needed.
Swimming Sessions: Support the student during swimming sessions twice a week, helping with dressing, undressing, and any other needs.
Speech and Language Support: Assist the student with speech and language difficulties, supporting her communication development both in and outside the classroom.
Collaboration: Work alongside the class teacher and other support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, tailored to the students needs.
Personal Care: Assist the student with personal care tasks, ensuring her dignity, comfort, and well-being at all times.

Eligibility Requirements:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
Up-to-date manual handling training (required).
Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one).
References related to childcare or educational support.
Ability to assist with swimming and personal care tasks.
