Job summary

Step Into Teaching partners with a fantastic school in Redbridge, seeking graduates passionate about helping children and young people as SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistants. The role offers a 35-hour week during term time and a rewarding environment focused on safeguarding and student development.

You will work with a team of professionals to support students aged 11–16, building confidence and achieving goals day by day, while developing your own skills within a supportive programme.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (2:2) required.
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Able to work well in a team; empathetic and resilient in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

We have partnered with afantastic school in Redbridge,and we are looking for graduates who have a passion for working with children and young people to join the school as a SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant.


This school is all aboutcreating a caring family environment for its staff and studentsand is keen to develop graduates going into their school.


This role isextremely rewardingas you’ll be building relationships and supporting students who have SEN and SEMH needs. The amazing thing about this role is you’ll be able to see students build their confidence and achieve their goals with your daily support.


You’ll be working alongside a team of experienced professionals which makes this a brilliant opportunity to grow and develop your own skills.


What To Expect From This Highly Rewarding Role:


  • Full-time: 35-hour working week

  • Sept start for an academic year

  • £565.00 -£580.00 per week (term time only)

  • Work within a supportive and positive environment within a school in Redbridge

  • Develop your skills, and build confidence while being supported by our programme and experienced members of staff

  • Support children aged 11 -16 from day one

  • Inspire the next generation and support them in becoming the best version of themselves


What We Are Looking For:


  • Hold a completed bachelor's degree (minimum 2:2)

  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Able to work well in a team

  • Empathetic, caring individual

  • Resilient individual who’s able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience/knowledge surrounding SEN SEMH (beneficial but not essential)
